GradelyGPA (“we”, “our”, or “the App”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, stored, and protected when you use the GradelyGPA mobile application.

GradelyGPA is a GPA calculation, projection, and academic planning tool designed to help students track performance, set targets, and stay motivated.

1. Information We Collect

A. Information You Provide

The app stores the following data locally on your device:

  • Course names

  • Credit hours

  • Target grades

  • Actual grades

  • Semester names

  • GPA calculations and projections

  • Selected university and grading scale

  • App preferences (e.g., semester system, theme)

This information is not shared with us by default.

B. Automatically Collected Information

GradelyGPA may automatically collect non-personal technical data, including:

  • Device type

  • Operating system version

  • App version

  • Anonymous usage statistics (crash reports, performance)

This data is used only to improve app stability and performance.

C. Advertising Data

GradelyGPA displays ads via Google AdMob.

AdMob may collect:

  • Advertising ID

  • Approximate location (country/region)

  • Device information

  • Ad interaction data

This data is collected by Google, not GradelyGPA.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use information to:

  • Calculate GPA and projections

  • Display academic insights and classifications

  • Provide daily motivational messages

  • Improve app performance and reliability

  • Display relevant advertisements

We do not:

  • Sell user data

  • Share academic data with third parties

  • Use data for profiling beyond app functionality

3. Data Storage

Local Storage

  • All academic data (courses, grades, semesters) is stored locally on your device using secure local storage.

  • You retain full control of this data.

Optional Cloud Sync

  • GradelyGPA may allow optional backup/sync (e.g., Google Drive).

  • Sync occurs only when you explicitly enable it.

  • Synced data is stored in your own cloud account, not on our servers.

4. Data Sharing

We do not share your academic data with third parties.

Data may be shared only in the following cases:

  • With Google AdMob for ad delivery

  • If required by law or legal process

5. Data Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your data:

  • Offline-first design minimizes exposure

  • No central server storing student records

  • Secure local database usage

  • Limited permissions requested

However, no system is 100% secure. Use of the app is at your own discretion.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your data (within the app)

  • Edit or delete courses, grades, and semesters

  • Reset or clear app data

  • Disable ads where applicable (if premium features are introduced)

7. Children’s Privacy

GradelyGPA is intended for students and adults.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you believe a child has provided personal data, please contact us to have it removed.

8. Third-Party Services

GradelyGPA uses:

  • Google AdMob (Advertising)

  • Google Drive (optional) for backup/sync

These services have their own privacy policies, and we recommend reviewing them.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
Any changes will be reflected in the app and/or app store listing.

Continued use of GradelyGPA after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
